Weight Loss Motivation
Latonya lost 59 pounds without surgery by following a healthy diet and exercising regularly. She worked hard to change her way of life while dealing with depression, anxiety, back pain, and high blood pressure.
What was your motivation? What motivated you to persevere even when you wanted to give up?
My husband, children, and the fact that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired motivated me to lose weight. I was also sick of having high blood pressure, headaches, and back pain. Seeing the journeys of the other women in the BWLW group inspires me.
What steps did you take to alter your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by eliminating sweets, soda, fried foods, and fast food. I also increased my water consumption and concentrated on eating more fruits, vegetables, and baked goods.
What was your workout routine like? How frequently did you exercise?
Monday through Saturday, I work out. Boxing, Zumba, Taebo, YouTube exercise videos, and weight lifting are all part of my workout routine.
How much did you weigh when you first started?
My starting weight was 249 pounds,
What is your current weight?
I’m currently 190 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5’7″.
When did you begin your adventure? How long did it take you to transform?
I began in 2014, but stopped due to depression/anxiety, emotional eating, and stress. In 2020, I finally became consistent.
Is weight loss surgery on your list of goals?
No, I didn’t have weight loss surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you really have to be consistent with your eating habits and your exercise routine.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice to other women is to take one day at a time because small changes make a huge difference over time.
